Equity benchmarks indices wiped out early gains with the Nifty breaking 8000 level on profit booking. BSE Sensex erased initial gains and it was trading up by over 59 points at 26019, NSE Nifty down by 17 points at 8020.70 while the broader markets outperformed benchmarks.
About 1166 shares have advanced, 799 shares have declined and 105 shares are unchanged. Indian Rupee opened marginally lower by 0.20 paise at 68.45 per dollar.
The BSE Mid-cap sector trading up 32 points at 11929, BSE Small Cap gained 31 points to 11658 and Bank Nifty lost 81 points at 18467. In Commodity market, Gold hiked 56 points to 29,195 where as Sliver jumped up 54 points at 40,844.
Asian Market Updates: Japan's index Nikkei trading up 56 points at 18162, Hong Kong's index hang Seng hiked 61 points to 22739 and China's index Shanghai Composite live up 7 points at 3255.
