The S&P BSE Sensex fall over 146 points in trade on Thursday, losses in L&T, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Tata Motors and Sun Pharma.
The 50-share Nifty index fall over 50 points to hit its lowest level since December 17, 2014. The index fall under its assume support level of 8050, losses in pharma, auto, banks, capital goods, and consumer durable stocks.
The rupee extended down and plunged to its lowest level in 2015, against the greenback in early morning trade on sustained dollar demand from banks and importers amid weak equities.
